What is NBN

What exactly is the nbn™ network?

The nbn™ network is a government infrastructure project that will provide broadband internet and fixed phone line access to all Australians through a combination of optic fibre, and fixed wireless and satellite technology in the harder to reach areas.

Fibre improves the speed and quality of voice and data delivery, which will better serve Australian businesses in an increasingly connected global marketplace. The infrastructure is being rolled out by the government owned nbn™.

The nbn™ network advantage

As Australia makes the shift to the nbn™ network, you’ll benefit from superfast internet and a great range of voice services. With our expertise, your business can make the most of HD video conferencing, smart call management, fast downloads, remote working, media streaming and cloud computing, helping to improve productivity, efficiency and customer communications.

The nbn™ network rollout

The rollout will take time and is managed by nbn™. View the rollout map to see if the nbn™ network is in your area and stay up-to-date with news regarding recently added areas and infrastructure announcements.

Help ensure your services are NBN ready with Telstra’s Business Protect Alarm Monitoring

Were you aware that when you move your services to the NBN, your existing alarm monitoring service may not be compatible or compliant with Australian security standards? Telstra’s “Business Protect IP” works over the Telstra Mobile Network and so isn’t affected by the nbn roll out. It’s a wireless secure alarm monitoring service that allows you to keep your existing compatible alarm panel.

The alarm is connected to, and monitored by Telstra SNP Monitoring (TSM), a joint venture between Telstra and SNP Security. SNP is a privately owned Australian security firm, operating to the highest industry standards, with A1 grade secured monitoring centres and over 90 years of experience and servicing over 30,000 customers.
